Wentilo heat recovery unit — first start-up — follow the steps below in order to correctly update and configure the device.
Step 1 of 14
Download and install the iCONNECT app

Install the app on your mobile device, launch it and grant all required permissions (Bluetooth, location).

Log in to your iCONNECT account

Register or log in to your iCONNECT account in the app.

💡 Note
If the app becomes unresponsive at any step — close and reopen the app, then repeat that step.

Enable Bluetooth communication

Switch the heat recovery unit control panel from Wi-Fi to Bluetooth.

For iSWITCH Ti: press and hold the [on/off] icon on/off until all panel indicators begin flashing. Rapid flashing (several times per second) = Bluetooth active.
For iSENSE 5i: on the home screen tap: User Menu Settings Wi-Fi Mode — switch from WiFi to BT Letters BT in the top bar = Bluetooth active.
💡 Note
If the app becomes unresponsive at any step — close and reopen the app, then repeat that step.

Search for the unit in the app

Connect to the heat recovery unit via Bluetooth.

At the bottom of the app screen tap: [BT] [Search for devices] select the detected [Internet Module] Internet Module

Download update files

Download all required files — panel firmware, unit firmware and factory configuration snapshot. Start by selecting your control panel.

Select the panel model installed at the unit.

Select your panel hardware version

The HW version is printed on the panel's rating plate. Download the file and save it to a microSD card (FAT32, max 32 GB).

Extract the downloaded ZIP file — you need the *.pfi file for the update.

Unit series

The first two letters of the code on the unit's rating plate.

Know the full model code? Enter it directly, e.g. IT450 S1 AA
Model not found — check the code and try again.

The three-digit number after the series code — e.g. IC180, IT450.

Download the configuration snapshot

Extract the downloaded ZIP file — you need the *.json file.

Extract and prepare the downloaded files

Extract the downloaded ZIP files, rename them as needed and save them to your mobile device's storage. Make sure you have:

Files you should have:

1. Unit firmware file — *.pfi
2. Factory configuration snapshot — *.json (extracted from ZIP)
3. Panel firmware file — *.pfc (iSENSE, on microSD card) or *.bin (iSWITCH, in phone storage)
💡 Note
If the app becomes unresponsive at any step — close and reopen the app, then repeat that step.

Update the control panel
iSENSE 5i
Copy the downloaded *.pfc file to a microSD card (FAT32, max 32 GB). Insert the card into the slot on the bottom of the panel. On the panel screen tap [Panel][Confirm]. Wait for the update to complete, then remove the card.
iSWITCH Ti
In the iCONNECT app tap: [Wrench icon] Wrench password: check code (login required) OK [Find and add update file] select the *.bin file [Start update process] Follow the on-screen instructions.

If the app becomes unresponsive at any step — close and reopen the app, then repeat that step.

Update the unit firmware
In the iCONNECT app tap: [Ventilation Controller] [Wrench icon] Wrench [Firmware update] password: check code (login required) OK [Find and add update file] select the *.pfi file [Start update process] The process may take several minutes. Leave the device undisturbed.
⏳ Warning
Do not change any unit settings during the update. Wait for the success notification.

If the app becomes unresponsive at any step — close and reopen the app, then repeat that step.

Restore factory settings
In the iCONNECT app tap: [Ventilation Controller] [Service settings] password: check code (login required) OK at the bottom, grey toggle [Default settings] The grey toggle will turn green. Wait until the green toggle returns to grey — this signals the process is complete. Return to the home screen.
💡 Note
If the app becomes unresponsive at any step — close and reopen the app, then repeat that step.

Import the factory configuration snapshot
In the iCONNECT app tap: [Ventilation Controller] [Wrench icon] Wrench Configuration snapshots password: check code (login required) OK [Import configuration snapshot] select the downloaded *.json file Follow the on-screen instructions in the app.
💡 Note
If the app becomes unresponsive at any step — close and reopen the app, then repeat that step.

Load the configuration snapshot
In the iCONNECT app tap: [Ventilation Controller] [Wrench icon] Wrench Configuration snapshots password: check code (login required) OK [Load configuration snapshot] select the imported *.json file Loading takes around 10–15 seconds. Leave the device undisturbed.
⏳ Warning
Do not interrupt the configuration snapshot loading process.

Reset filter run-time
Applies to: iEDGE (type E1 / S1)

If your unit uses the iEDGE SMART system (type E4 / S4), skip this step.

In the iCONNECT app tap: [Ventilation Controller] [User settings] [Advanced settings] [Filters] grey toggle [Reset filter run-time] The grey toggle will turn green. Wait until the green toggle returns to grey. Return to the home screen.
💡 Note
If the app becomes unresponsive at any step — close and reopen the app, then repeat that step.

Calibrate filter operation
Applies to: iEDGE SMART (type E4 / S4)

If your unit uses the iEDGE system (type E1 / S1) — this step does not apply, proceed to the next one.

In the iCONNECT app tap: [Ventilation Controller] [User settings] [Advanced settings] [Filters] grey toggle [Force filter replacement procedure] [Start calibration? YES] OK Follow the on-screen instructions. If a [Calibration Error] message appears — check the filter condition.
💡 Note
If the app becomes unresponsive at any step — close and reopen the app, then repeat that step.

Calibrate the fan operating range
Applies to: iEDGE SMART (type E4 / S4)

If your unit uses the iEDGE system (type E1 / S1) — this step does not apply, proceed to the next one.

In the iCONNECT app tap: [Ventilation Controller] [Service settings] password: check code (login required) OK [Fan settings] [Constant flow — control calibration] grey toggle [Activate calibration] The grey toggle will turn green. Calibration starts automatically. Wait until the process finishes, then tap [End calibration] and return to the home screen.
⏳ Warning
Resolve all unit faults before calibration. View faults via the ⚠ icon at the bottom of the screen.

If the app becomes unresponsive at any step — close and reopen the app, then repeat that step.
Step 14 of 14
Switch the panel back to Wi-Fi and finish

Switch the control panel from Bluetooth mode back to Wi-Fi.

iSWITCH Ti
Press and hold the [on/off] icon on/off until the indicators begin flashing. Slow flashing (once per second) or steady light = Wi-Fi active.
iSENSE 5i
On the home screen tap: User Menu Settings WiFi Mode — switch from BT to WiFi

The panel, unit and configuration have been updated. The device is ready for operation.
